Talentnet speaks at Amcham event about Labour Trends: Key highlights of 2020 Talentnet-Mercer Total Remuneration Survey

Ho Chi Minh City, 27 October 2020 – Ms. Hoa Nguyen, Senior Principal, Human Capital Solutions from Talentnet has given a speech about how salary & bonuses planning has been reacting to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Key highlights are included with salary planning in 2021 & the variable bonus for 2020 as well as the latest hiring trends, staff turnover information, remote-working as well as Local-Plus pay practices – one of the hottest topic in these times.

According to Ms. Hoa Nguyen, Vietnam is one of the nations that has flexibly well-adjusted to the Covid-19 situation. Given such advantages, therefore, despite economic turbulence, organizations are as yet enthusiastic about putting resources into their HR strategic moves to capture the market patterns towards compensation & benefits.

Some of the outstanding insights are:

  • 6% of companies implemented/ or is considering implementing base salary reductions in response to Covid-19.
  • 14% of multinational corporations (MNCs) and 34% of local companies have a salary freeze in 2020. 6% of MNCs and 3% of local firms are expected to continue salary freeze in 2021.
  • The rate of salary increase in 2020 is 7.6% (for MNCs) and 7.9% (for local companies).
