RESPONSIBITIES:

  • Work with the development team in US, vendors and colleagues in China closely on various brands of development
  • Review AI design drawings with US team and communicate concepts effectively to vendors. Help vendors to understand the concepts and assist in problem solving.
  • Good working knowledge of material consumptions and pattern making. Creating solutions for cost savings and productivity.
  • Must have the ability to identify key process issues and potential production issues to the U.S. team early, providing alternative solutions to the issues.
  • Responsible for overseeing Salesmen Sample (SMS) production and identifying production issues or efficiencies to the US team and Factory team.
  • Responsible for maintaining the in-house First Article Samples (FAS) in Asia.
  • Leading Product Redevelopment Process
  • Update product specification sheets during redevelopment and upload final approved version to the system.
  • Approving Redevelopment Prototype Samples and promoting to Production Confirmation Sample
  • Manage hand over process of approved products to quality team & vendors and specify critical areas for inspections.
  • Conduct pre-production sample audit and confirmed the sample
  • Conducts in-line and pre-shipment quality audits at our factories. During this process, the QA is responsible to make independent decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of product.
  • For rejected product, the QA makes recommendations for corrective action prior to shipment and works with the factory to identify root cause, so preventive action can be taken.
  • Responsible for on-going training for our vendors to assure our Company quality expectations are consistently achieved. The QA is the primary Company quality representative to our vendors. As such, the role is expected to act in accordance with Company guiding values and mission.
  • Leading, training and managing CFA (Certified Factory Auditors) performance in vendors
  • Supports the development and update of Company quality control standards and processes.
  • Maintain quality control tools for vendor communication and vendor quality performance assessment.
  • Work with Technical manager and vendors to plan and schedule field audits that minimize product delays and maximizes our ability to ensure finished products meet Company quality standards
  • Ensure quality of Company product by performing audits at vendor’s factories during pre-production, in-line and prior to shipment
  • Determine root cause of quality issues and work with factory on quality process improvement

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Apparel / Textile Technician of Light to Mid weight woven and cut-sewn knits garments. Experience on garment wash / garment dye is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with USA or European companies.
  • Knowledge of materials, construction and general quality requirements used in apparel, tents, packs, luggage and other outdoor products.
  • Strong technical and production knowledge for apparel, tents, packs, sleeping bags, luggage and other outdoor products.
  • Language skills: read, write and speak English skills are preferred; speaking in Chinese / Vietnamese is a plus.
  • Ability to complete projects while being flexible with changing priorities.
  • Must be detail oriented and accurate.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including percentages.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers; proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to collect, summarize, analyze and report data
  • Ability to perform the requirements of the job with little or no supervision
  • Ability to organize and lead others to accomplish group goals
  • Ability to work effectively in foreign countries with diverse cultures
  •  Ability to travel throughout China and internationally.
  • Ability to travel independently and for extended periods.
  • Proficient in MS Office Application
  • Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficient in reading and understanding 2D drawings and 3D models is a plus.
